A unique capture of the FIS campus
When Covid-19 concerns led to the cancellation of an annual museum field trip, Upper School art teachers Darren Trebel and Jessica Russo Scherr didn’t hesitate in finding another experience that proved equally fruitful. They armed students with a discarded paper towel tube and challenged them to wander the campus photographing images
through this unique telescopic view. Back in the art studio, students then painted the captured images on round canvases using oil. The results are this stunning collection of fall colors at FIS, which are now on display at the Oberursel campus in an exhibition titled “A World of Opportunities.”
